This meditation is different, I’m rolling with it… It explores a contraction and expansion of the senses, for a broader relationship to yourself. Keep reading below...
The past week moved at a faster bumpier pace that seem to require an extra degree of calm and focus. Maybe the full moon had something to do with it?? To summarize; it seemed to be about knowing how to surrender, while applying a sprinkling of insight and intuition.
Surrendering is an important process.
When I think about surrendering, I consider its flip side- willfulness. What is it? Willfulness is a state of being in which a person decides to apply energy against the flow (of their life), which might look like pushing to manifest something, or blocking the progression of something (or maybe ‘digging heels’ in). Willfulness can have a quality of rigidity or an intensity to it and can cost a person health, friendships or relationships…
Understandably, people are stressed about changes unfolding since the pandemic started. These are stressful times! Whether it be direct (on a personal level) or indirect (political or economic climate) - there IS much to be concerned about. However, is there a degree of willfulness in your response that may not be serving you? Could accepting ‘what is’ be useful? Would it help to go with the flow a smidge more while quieting enough to notice (thus tend to) personal needs? (eg: more rest, less isolation, not working after a certain hour) The emphasis here is on surrendering to yourself, which can be understood as a way of honoring yourself.
Where to begin? Quiet the mind, steady the heart, reduce internal noise.
How? Engage in- something creative, a breath practice, meditate, contemplate, use a journal to direct your worries or troubles.
Clearing a space within makes it a little easier to tune in to You.
